In line with the Nurturing Terroir and Valuing People pillars of Pernod Ricard’s Sustainability & Responsibility (S&R) strategy, Aberlour has been taking social and environmental action to protect and preserve its local community.
2020 saw the start of a new cycle of life for Atlantic salmon in the Speyside area. Planting 20,000 eggs in the Lour near the Group's distillery is part of a unique partnership between Aberlour and the Spey Fishery Board to maintain the salmon population
– a key resource for biodiversity and local tourism. In the wider Aberlour community, Covid‑19 restrictions hit many local livelihoods. Through a donation to the Moray Emergency Relief Fund, Aberlour is helping support individuals from the nearby
community facing financial hardship due to Covid‑19, providing vital support to those most vulnerable as a result of the pandemic.
Aberlour is a whisky closely linked with the Speyside area and is proud to contribute to the continued well‑being of its community. Actions like these strengthen its appeal to whisky lovers who identify more and more with brands that share their sense
of sustainability and solidarity.
« Speyside is home not only to our distillery but also to many of our team members and partners. We want to give something back to the community that has given us so much over the years. »
